Gloomth

“Ghost” corset skirt from Gloomth.
A reader named Sierra emailed me a few months ago about Gloomth & the cult of melancholoy a Canadian clothing store specializing in custom, handmade wares that every goth out there has wanted to own at one time or another.
Horace Walpole was first to coin the term Gloomth, when referring to the members of the Victorian subculture that revelled in the morbid, embraced the strict mourning garb eternally, and frequented the elaborate cemeteries of the era.
…
Gloomth is a clothing label specializing in unique apparel and accessories. Gloomth is the answer for someone looking for a truly luxury interpretation of the darker side of life. Ideal for a customer with an eye for design and a thirst for quality. Our pieces are produced in extremely limited quantities, and cannot be found elsewhere- online or in a retail environment.
– What is Gloomth?
You may have outgrown striped tights, that awful tasting Halloween store black lipstick and the overwhelming need to take badly composed self portraits in the middle of the local cemetery, but Gloomth brings back those memories. The majority of the clothing would be best described as Gothloli and can be a bit overwhelming when worn together. Individually each piece is stunning and I have heard great things about their quality.
After the jump you can take a look at a few other items that part of me still wishes I could own. You should also take a look at their official blog for all of your future Gloomth news needs.

“Gunmetal Sulphide” dark silver satin party dress.

“Aristocracy” gothic blouse with exaggerated cuffs and framed yoke.

“Itoshii White” cotton schoolgirl blouse with interchangeable bows.

“Vrai Noir” Corset overcoat with bell sleeves & lace accents.

“Pepper” Black & grey shrug with big puff sleeves & corset details.

You’d be surprised how much it costs to look this cheap!

Gloomth is awesome! I’ve wanted their lacy bloomers for my around the house wardrobe for a while now. But instead it stays my Cure Concert shirt and sweatpants. Oh well
<3 Aww gloomth, very much classic looks all of us goths have loved forever! I agree that when we goths hit a certain age, we stop wanting to wear all of it together – but rearranging one or two things here and there is always going to work.
If you like gloomth, you'll probably like http://www.fanplusfriend.com/ as well. The specialize in cosplay and reproductions, but have made very amazing custom pieces from image references for some of my plus size (both curvy and super tall) friends.
Aw! Thank you for the shout out! Would you mind if we post a link to this article in our Press section? :)
