Wallets for Gothic People

Spring is the season when I celebrate the warmer weather and sunshine with a new wallet. It’s a nice and generally cheaper way to update the way my wardrobe feels. I may be wearing much of the same clothing from the fall and winter to the supermarket, but the wallet I pull out of my bag to make my purchases is new!
When purchasing a new wallet I look for what I need it to do for me before I look for one that fits my aesthetic taste. I usually end up purchasing zipper-close rectangular wallets with lots of pockets and storage inside of them. I need my wallet to be able to carry my identification, bank cards, work receipts, membership/rewards cards, change and cash. The rectangular wallets allow me to organize my paper money in the anal retentive fashion that keeps me calm (by denomination and all bills facing the same direction) without having to pull it all out to resort. Having multiple natural sections in my wallet also allows me to sort receipts quickly which is really convenient.
If you’re in the market for a new wallet I recommend taking a similar approach. Decide what your needs are, what you need access to on a constant basis when it comes to your wallet and then find something that looks great while filling those needs.
After the jump you can take a look at the collections of wallets I picked out for gothic men and women. You will notice that I am still obsessed with blue, but for the most part the wallets I’ve chosen are in black, white, grey and then a few choice colors. In my opinion, hidden accessories such as wallets and undergarments are some of the easiest places for goths to experiment with color. Who would expect a goth in head to toe black in the middle of July to pull a bright red patent wallet out of her black bag or the pocket of his black pants?

Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.

Wallets are such an important accessory; they say a lot about a person’s attention to detail and as such it’s really hard to find the perfect blend of functionality + aesthetic and I tend to favour function too. You have a great selection here! I love studs on wallets.
I completely agree! So many people ignore their accessories when they are choosing their outfits. I think wallets and bags are very important accessories.
