Yesterday I let my Tumblr and Facebook followers know that I am 75 to 80% finished with a book that I have been working on for the majority of this year. The idea is one that has been bubbling in the back of my mind for at least the last three years.

The book will be a basic guide to grown-up Gothic style. It will have my tips for gathering style inspiration, identifying your own Gothic style icons, using that inspiration to come up with your own idea of a “perfect Gothic wardrobe” that you would actually wear, general clothing care tips, in-person shopping tips, online shopping tips and a few other things that are escaping my mind at the moment. It will also contain a huge resources section filled with as many different places I could find to acquire goth friendly wares around the web.

I will be self-publishing the book as an eBook. It will be $10 and will be on sale in two weeks or less. There will be a discounted two-day pre-sale before the release, though I don’t have a specific date on that yet.

Some readers had some questions about the book that I would like to answer. If you have any other questions about the book please let me know!

Will it be available internationally?
Yes! If you have a PayPal account then you can purchase it internationally.

I don’t have an eBook reader!
The book will be in PDF format which will allow you to read it on your computer, cellphone or other mobile device. There will be more information on ways for you to read the book without an eBook reader when it is released.

Will you be offering a print version?
Simple answer: for this book, no. I will not be offering a print version.
Long answer: in the future I would love to do that. Right now I do not have the funds to self-publish a print on demand book. I have ideas for several more style books that I want to write in the future. Depending on the reception of this book and future books I would love to put together a print-on-demand book containing all of those books. That is far in the future though.

Will there be a way for me to preview the book before I buy it?
Yes! I am working to get a digital preview put together of one of the sections. I hope to have that available at the same time as the pre-order sale. (I wouldn’t want to take pre-order money without letting you see a sample of what you’ll be getting. Some people may do business that way, but I do not.)

Will there be advice for plus-sizes, males, gender neutral, et al. in the book?
Yes! I know that I have a diverse audience of readers and I don’t want to make anyone feel like this book will not apply to them because style books are generally aimed at helping skinny, rich, white women. I am working hard to make the advice included as universal as possible while including specific tips for specific body types, genders, etc.

In the future I hope to have books written for specific groups of people, but this one is for the basic advice that most everyone can find something useful in.
